The Member of Parliament for the Akatsi South Constituency and First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Esq., is a man whose public service speaks louder in impact than in noise.
Rising through dedication, discipline, and hard work, Rt. Hon. Ahiafor has not only earned the confidence of the good people of Akatsi South over the years but has also been entrusted by his parliamentary colleagues to serve as First Deputy Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, a position that places him on the global parliamentary stage representing the Republic of Ghana.
Despite the weight of this national and international responsibility, a few social media commentators and self-styled bloggers have attempted to paint a misleading picture claiming that the MP is “not doing anything” for his constituents simply because he chooses results over publicity and service over social media theatrics.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

A WORD TO BLOGGERS AND COMMENTATORS

Criticism is healthy in a democracy but irresponsible commentary is not.
We therefore admonish bloggers and social media commentators to adhere to basic journalism ethics, including:

* Verification of facts
* Research before publication
* Balance and fairness in reporting
* Responsible commentary that builds, not misleads

Credibility is not gained through sensationalism but through truth, accuracy, and integrity. The people of Akatsi South can testify to the works of their MP not because they were trending online, but because they are visible on the ground.
Service done quietly does not mean service not done.
